Preventive Dentistry

Keep your teeth and gums healthy, and your smile could last a lifetime. The foundation for your continued oral health is based on regular, six-month checkups and cleanings. Checkups may not seem like a big deal, but in reality, they allow us to find and treat oral diseases and tooth decay before these conditions escalate into larger, more serious problems.

An Economical Choice

Waiting for a tooth to hurt before going to the dentist is like waiting on the smoke alarm to sound before checking the oven. If you wait for the emergency, the problem is sure to be bigger. Cavities, cracks, chips, and interior infection of teeth, as well as gum disease and oral cancer, can only be treated by a dentist. Left alone, these problems will spread and cost you more time, money, and pain.

Checkup & Cleaning

At your checkup, we'll take X-rays and intraoral images of your mouth, and Dr. Lowe will inspect your teeth, occlusion, and the soft tissues in your mouth. He'll work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your goals, budget, and schedule. If you feel anxious about dental visits, talk with Dr. Lowe about sedation dentistry. After your checkup, when scheduled, you'll meet with the hygienist for a thorough cleaning and periodontal charting. Our team members are here to help you and answer your questions. If you'd like information about a dental problem or product, don't hesitate to ask.

Gum Disease

If you show signs of gum disease, periodontal therapy can stop the infection and reverse damage to restore your healthy gums. As the leading cause of tooth loss in America, gum disease affects up to 80% of the population. It has also been associated with increased risk for heart attack, stroke, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, low birth weight, and diabetes complications. You may not even know that you have gum disease, because, in the early stage, symptoms are mild or nonexistent. Our skilled hygienists employ innovative technology to protect your teeth and gums.
